Russain salad



                               Russian salad is an easy to make salad, tasty recipe and is quite popular. The flavor and texture of the Russian salad is quite different from the standard salads, as it uses parboiled veggies rather than raw ones. The salad is traditionally from Russian cuisine but has now become popular all over the world and its preparation varies from place to place. You can serve the Russian salad with regular meals or as a snack whenever you feel hungry.

INGREDIENTS



Fresh cream: 1 cup
Curd/Yogurt: ½ cup
Potato: 1 medium size
Green peas: ½ cup
Fresh beans: 6-8
Carrot: 1
Pine apple: ½ cup cubed
Papaya: ½ cup cubed
Apple: 1 chopped
Grapes: ½ cup
Salt: 1 tsp
Black pepper: ½ tsp
Sugar: 2 tsp

  METHOD


1.    First rinse carrot, potato, fresh beans and green peas.
2.    Boil carrot, potato, fresh beans and green peas with salt (½ tsp). Then drain the water.
3.    When veggies are boiled, chop carrot and fresh beans.
4.    Peel potato and cut.
5.    Now take a large bowl, add chopped veggies, peas, pineapple, papaya, apple, grapes and mix well.
6.    Add fresh cream, curd, salt, sugar and black pepper. Mix well
7.    Toss to coat them evenly.
8.    Chill the salad for an hour and serve cool.

      TIP:
·      You can also serve Russian salad as a spread on brown bread.
